Costume Guide

Costumes are Required, Why?

For the Galactic Gala costumes of some kind are mandatory. Think of this like Gatsby period parties people throw, except this is Star Wars themed. It will be fun, trust us. Costumes do not need to be elaborate or expensive. In fact it is better if your costume is not of an existing character, but something you've invented yourself. Items already in your closet might be more than enough if you find creative ways to repurpose them.

How to choose a character?

Think of your favorite characters. Are they a loveable scoundrel, a dignified politician, or a down to Earth farmer? Maybe you're a merchant on holiday, maybe you're a down on your luck gambler. Maybe you're just YOU in a Star Wars outfit, that is ok too.

Where to buy costumes?

You can also purchase pre-made costumes, this event is shortly after Halloween and you may be able to find some bargains at Spirit Halloween, and it doesn't need to be labeled Star Wars, you may find something that looks in-universe that happens to be a Pirate or a Monk or something else. Shop Disney has has lots of in-universe costumes, some character based and others unique. Lastly there are many different types of clothes that can be purchased online from Chef Coats to military surplus to yoga or other sports wear that can be used for a different purpose.

Can I make my own?

Items already in your closet might be more than enough if you find creative ways to repurpose them. Start with clothing without visible logos or text. Turn a vest or fishing jacket inside out, add a scarf, a cape, or other accessory.

You could also make your own armor, cloaks, or tunics if you are really motivated. Use your imagination.

What about accessories?

There are small droids you can add, comlinks, helmets, stuffed pets, all sorts of things. However blasters will be confiscated at the door and returned at the end of the night for story purposes (you can take pictures with them then put them away).
